Solid Waste Consulting Services
Americans generate millions of tons of municipal solid waste annually, most of which is deposited in landfills. Currently, only about a third of the solid waste in the U.S. is recycled and 13% is combusted for energy production. Even as options expand to use municipal waste for recycling and energy production, America continues to rely primarily on landfill disposal. NTH provides the tools to properly manage and dispose of the significant amount of waste material that is placed in these sites.
NTH has the institutional knowledge and expertise that comes with over 50 years of experience serving the waste industry. We apply sound engineering, scientific, and economic principles to address our clients’ needs. With involvement dating back to the earliest solid waste regulations, we assist our clients with the various aspects of waste disposal, materials management, and regulatory compliance. Our expertise extends from coal-fired energy plants to recycling facilities, from municipal and commercial waste to industrial waste landfills, from construction and demolition waste to composting facilities, and clients ranging from municipalities to commercial and industrial entities and waste industry associations. Beyond our project expertise we regularly participate and are actively involved in leadership roles in various waste industry organizations and regulatory work groups. Our services include site evaluation, design, construction, and permitting (including renewals); vertical and horizontal expansion applications; post-construction, post-closure and environmental monitoring; and ongoing compliance assistance at various waste management facilities. Our “cradle-to-grave” approach gives our clients the confidence that the materials they generate will be sustainably and responsibly managed for years to come. Project Highlights
