Richard L. Burns
Senior Vice President, NTH Consultants, Ltd. Rick Burns has 35 years of professional experience in the environmental/engineering consulting field and leads the Solid Waste Strategic Marketing Initiative for NTH. With a focus on waste-related, contaminant transport, and water resource projects, he has planned, managed and conducted environmental projects relating to all aspects of the waste management industry. Rick is a regarded advisor on per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) sampling and evaluations, having recently led MWRA’s first-in-the-nation research project and associated report regarding the statewide impact of landfill leachate PFAS on wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). Senior Vice President, Senior Toxicologist Brad Venman has more than 40 years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance and toxicology/risk assessment. Prior to joining NTH, Mr. Venman served as Chief of the Groundwater Section’s Waste Characterization & Land Application Unit in Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), now Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE). Mr. Venman had key roles in the development of risk-based regulations for surface and groundwater discharge criteria, and was instrumental in the development of Michigan’s risk-based cleanup criteria for the remediation and solid/hazardous waste programs. Mr. Venman continues to be active on various EGLE stakeholder advisory work groups. He is serving a four-year term on the Environmental Permit Review Commission and is currently serving a second three-year term on the Remediation and Redevelopment Division’s Response Activity Review Panel. |
