Civil/Site Engineering & Design

Assisting Throughout a Project’s Life Cycle
Civil/site engineering is the groundwork for site development. NTH provides extensive civil engineering services to developers of commercial, industrial, and governmental properties. Land developers face many constraints as they plan the utilization of their property. NTH has the experience to work with developers and public agencies to optimize utilization of a site, and return on investment in a property. We have learned that teamwork between the owner, design professionals, contractor and regulatory agencies is a major factor in successful development and/or expansion of industrial, commercial and governmental facilities. Our professionals work closely with clients to understand their unique concerns, requirements and project expectations. Municipal planning ordinances, which prescribe building coverage ratios, setbacks, and parking requirements, affect site layout, as well as conservation of natural resources (e.g. woodlands and wetlands). Our professionals assist clients throughout the life-cycle of development, including feasibility studies, due-diligence surveys, site evaluations and design, permitting assistance, and construction observation.

Our staff are experienced in identifying design constraints, preparing design solutions, and developing permitting strategies that are in compliance with regulatory requirements. NTH has extensive experience designing roads and underground utilities, including water supply, sanitary sewers, pump stations and storm water management facilities. Incorporating the latest design techniques in practice today, NTH can efficiently design site infrastructure for a wide-variety of client and regulatory needs, including low impact development (green) storm water management to cut/fill site balance and grading analyses. From these analyses and designs, NTH can prepare construction documents and technical specifications for implementation by the contractor. We continue to represent our clients throughout the construction process, providing construction administration assistance and materials testing services, to facilitate project success.

Additionally, we provide immediate, effective response to unexpected environmental conditions that may arise during the course of construction with our in-house environmental staff that have extensive experience working on contaminated sites. Our staff have the expertise to manage a clean-up response that is cost-effective and in-compliance with regulatory protocols and regulations.
