NTH Consultants, Ltd. (NTH) is proud to announce that the design team consisting of WSP Michigan Inc., HNTB Michigan, Inc., Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. and NTH, won the ACEC/M Engineering Eminent Conceptor award, the most prestigious honor in the competition, for the American Center for Mobility Project (ACM) in Ann Arbor. NTH also secured an Engineering Honorable Conceptor Award for its project, “Using HDD to Mitigate Sinkhole Risks project in Southfield.” Both awards were presented at the 2019 American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan (ACEC/M) Engineering and Surveying Excellence Awards on March 2, 2019 and both were also nominated for the ACEC national award competition. |
NTH’s Engineering Honorable Conceptor Award win was for their work on the Telegraph / Franklin Sewer Replacement Project. Following a water main break which revealed a large sinkhole and 48” sanitary sewer, NTH was retained to lead a design-build emergency rehabilitation. Based on several field challenges, a 350-foot, 30-inch HDPE pipe using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) technology along with a Pilot Tube Guided Boring Machine (GBM) was selected for repair of the sewer. The 48” sewer and other impacted sewers were restored and the sinkhole area stabilized without impacting existing utilities, structures, and the highway. |
In addition to these award-winning projects, NTH has been involved with some of the most prominent and interesting projects in our region, including the Gordie Howe International Bridge, West Riverfront Park and Little Caesar’s Arena.
