With the ongoing health pandemic and the barrier it creates for shopping and supply chains, the need has never been greater for the 1 in 5 families in the Detroit area struggling to find enough to eat. As we prepared to celebrate our good fortune and spend time with our families, we did our part to help those less fortunate.
This year, we partnered with Forgotten Harvest, an organization dedicated to relieving hunger in our communities while preventing nutritious food waste. Forgotten Harvest delivers 144,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities five days a week, providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge.
NTH Management set a goal to reach $2,000 donated by our Employee Owners and guaranteed a match, up to that goal amount. Together we were able to make a significant donation and even surpass our goal with a total of $5,000 raised. We are thankful to our Management Team for their support this community initiative and especially to our NTH Employee Owners for stepping up in a big way to take advantage of this opportunity to support our community.
