Numerical simulations in geomechanics problems are gaining momentum due to increasingly complex projects and the demand for more robust, cost-effective, and sustainable designs. The  advancements in computational power and in developing “easy to implement” soil constitutive models aid in an effective utilization of numerical simulations in geotechnical and geostructural environments. The most important advantage of numerical simulations is the displacement based analysis, which will ensure that the design will meet the required performance. This webinar will discuss various numerical techniques and constitutive soil models, as well as an overview of a geotechnical finite element software (PLAXIS), its capabilities, and strengths.
