As the country progresses toward low or zero carbon in the energy and transportation markets, demand for alternatives to traditional fossil fuels are providing opportunities to divert methane from landfills, farms, wastewater treatment plants, or food waste operations into Renewable Natural Gas. Incentives driven by the federal Renewable Fuels Standard and state-specific low carbon fuel standards are being seen across the U.S., including the Midwest. RNG plants convert waste-derived landfill gas (LFG) or digester gas and other organic wastes into a source of clean and reliable energy to be used as a transportation fuel or to heat and power homes and businesses. This webinar will step through the regulatory and permitting pathway for successful development, design, and approval of RNG.

Ms. Rhiana Dornbos, P.E. leads a team of engineers and scientists in environmental permitting, risk management, and regulatory compliance at NTH Consultants, Ltd. Ms. Dornbos has been providing regulatory assistance as a Trusted Advisor to industry leaders for over 10 years, including navigating Clean Air Act and OSHA requirements for RNG. She currently serves as a Director on the Board for the West Michigan Chapter of Air & Waste Management Association. Rhiana grew up on a small dairy farm outside of Bozeman, MT and enjoys returning to Big Sky Country with her husband and two children every year. She graduated with honors B.S. in Engineering – Civil/Environmental Concentration from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI and is licensed as a Professional Engineer in MI and NC.
