Fairview Park
Permeable Pavement and Bioretention Project

NTH was the engineer of record for this project in which permeable pavers, each about the size of a brick, were installed at Fairview Park. Using this technology, water can now flow into small spaces between the pavers down through three layers of gravel. The gravel filters the water by absorbing pollutants, such as oil and heavy metals. Watch this demonstration by firefighters from the Fairview Park Fire Department who spray the permeable pavers with water to demonstrate their infiltration ability.
